DIPS and Mint Solutions working together to improve medication safety

Mint Solutions and DIPS are working together to offer MedEye to Norwegian hospitals for bedside verification. MedEye, Mint Solutions' innovative bedside verification technology, will be incorporated into the DIPS hospital information system, making it easier than ever before for hospitals to enhance medication safety and implement bedside medication verification.

Through this cooperation, the MedEye technology will be seamlessly integrated to the DIPS EHR. The solution is based on computer vision technology and does not require any barcoding or other changes in the medication logistics processes, making it easy for hospitals to start implementation and see immediate results.

MedEye used for medication administrations at ADRZ in the Netherlands

Psychiatric ward in ADRZ hospital in Vlissingen has successfully used MedEye for bedside verification of medication. The first use went extremely well and the staff at ADRZ was able to complete the medication rounds without problems. For Mint Solutions this was also a valuable experience as we

Computer vision expert Margrét Una Kjartansdóttir joins Mint Solutions

Margrét Una Kjartansdóttir has joined Mint Solutions’ steadily growing Research and Development team.

Kjartansdóttir graduated with a B.S. degree in Information Sciences from the Computer Department at the highly respected Columbia University in New York. She has participated in cutting edge projects on machine learning and brings the latest developments in the field into Mint Solutions.

Kjartansdóttir’s biomedical informatics research background will no doubt be valuable in creating the next generation solution for medication safety in hospitals. She is a welcomed addition to our competent team of developers and we look forward to our collaboration with her.

Mint Solutions receives grant from the Technology Development Fund

Mint Solutions has just been awarded a generous grant from the Icelandic Technology Development Fund. The fund’s role is to support research and development activities that promote innovation in Icelandic industry.

“This grant is a recognition of the fantastic development work our team has accomplished until now and inspires us to keep going. The grant will help us further develop the MedEye solution before we start testing with partner hospitals in the fall”, says Gauti Þór Reynisson, managing director of Mint Solutions.

First MedEye devices delivered to Mint Solutions

It is with great pleasure that Mint Solutions can announce the arrival of the first MedEye medication identification scanners. The scanners are manufactured by Job Kneppers Design & Production in Delft in Holland.

After the initial integration testing of the devices, we are pleased to note that all electronics and mechanics work as expected.

Mint Solutions would like to thank Job Kneppers for their excellent efforts with the design and production of the MedEye device, and not least for their delivery within both schedule and budget.

The MedEye scanners will undergo further testing in the coming months and will be ready for delivery to our customers in September 2011.
